Boys County Final 9-6-2016

We won the qualifier on the 29 of May in Kinvara. We had to play Ardrahan and Gort. We knew we were playing Clarinbridge because we stayed to watch their match. A fortnight later the final was on in Ballinderrine. The match started at 2 o’clock. We started slow with them getting the first 2 scores. We responded with a point at halftime it was 5 points to 2. Straight away in the second half we got 2 frees and scored them. Then Clarinbridge got a goal but we came back with 2 points and a goal with another goal and point to top it off. We had 7 people from Newcastle finish on the team.We’re looking forward to the All Ireland semis in August.

Senior Colour Run 10-06-2016. 

Ms Giblin and 6th class organised a fantastic colour run in the yard for 1st - 6th class today. We threw water balloons at the children first and we ran around in circles. When the music stopped we got covered in coloured powder and we had the best fun ever. 6th class organised the Colour Run as part of the Sky Sport's Challenge they are involved in. Newcastle are the first school in the country that signed up for the Sky Sport's Challenge. We have a wonderful mentor in Owen Diviney and he has really inspired us to challenge ourselves and others. 6th class are organising the annual sport's day next Friday so watch this space!
