Our Road Safety Day

 Tuesday  16/12/14

Two girls, Leona and Rachel came to our school to talk to us about road safety. 

We learned not to cross between cars or at bends.

In the center, they set up a mini village. We had our own jobs such as walking,cycling,delivering post etc. 

If  you were being unsafe you had to take time out in the hospital and then you would not get a safety licence which is a picture of you with your name on it, showing you have passed a safety course. 

                      We all had a great day!                                                                                     

P.E With Mr Glynn 8th-1st-2015

A big thank you to Mr Glynn who did loads of P.E with sixth class after Sean-Nós dancing on Thursday. We were very active and our hearts were pumping! We love being active and it is good for our hearts. We are getting fitter all the time.

We played warm up games.

We did loads of relays and we ran like rockets!

We put our hands behind our heads to help us get our breath back!

Sean- Nós Dancing Sixth Class 8th-1st-2015

Mairéad Joyce came to Newcastle and showed us how to do sean-nós dancing. We learned 2 steps today -shuffle, shuffle, stamp and heel and toe and shuffle, shuffle , stamp. We have to practice these steps at home as she is coming back again next week to teach us more. It was great cardio exercise and remembering the steps is good for our memories too. We danced to music and we enjoyed it.

Mairéad showed us the steps and we copied her.

We practiced as a big group first.

This is great exercise!
